Moses was tasked with producing a bold brand and the creative collateral that went with it; everything from a name and logo to app and website design. It was all hands on deck to develop a daring new platform that used technology to put patients first.
We started with a name, Akos, derived from the Latin root of panacea (“pan” meaning “all” and “akos” meaning “remedy”). It was singularly bold while still tying back to the broader idea of healthcare. From there, we added the tagline, “remedies in real time,” to convey the convenience of immediate medical solutions.
Now it was time to tackle the look. Our design team developed a custom geometric typeface using all lowercase letters to not only set the brand apart but also instill a sense of friendly approachability. The logo was sealed with a mark that echoed the shape of the custom “a” and featured a silhouette of a plus or cross, a universal symbol for healthcare.
Inspired by traditional medical scrubs, we created a color palette from which we could develop all of the brand’s collateral materials. The website, for example, used these medical teals to create an informative and interactive home page that incorporated a video (also produced by Moses) to give the viewer an immediate visual understanding of what Akos is. The app meanwhile used the same visual themes to create an experience that was more streamlined and intuitive than Akos’ competitors.
The overall result was a fluid assembly of research, creative, and marketing that positioned Akos to be named “Medical Startup of the Year” just months after its launch. From creating concepts to producing content, we worked with Akos to ensure this unique project met their unique goals and, just as importantly, our own.
